Ray Grein, Owner and President of General Machine started the company as a part time business to help prepare for the future education of his children. He started out in 1964 with a mill, saw and lathe set up in his garage at home. After approximately a year he was able to move to a location on Chestnut Street in Lancaster, Ohio and a short time later relocated to the present location.
